November is when the holiday season officially kicks off in Grand Rapids. From light displays to holiday markets, here’s what you can look forward to as the year winds down.
One of the city’s biggest traditions is the Christmas Lite Show at Fifth Third Ballpark, which starts in mid-November. This drive-thru light display is one of the largest in the state, with over a million lights illuminating the night. It’s a festive way to kick off the holiday season with friends or family. Check out dates and tickets here.
Downtown Grand Rapids also transforms for the holidays, with Rosa Parks Circle turning into a winter wonderland. The ice skating rink opens in late November, and it’s a classic way to embrace the holiday season. Learn more about the rink here.
Looking for holiday shopping? The Shop Hop (as mentioned above) is one of the best events to hit up in early December, but November brings some early bird events as well. Keep an eye on the Grand Rapids Downtown Market for special pre-holiday events. Check out the market’s schedule here.
