August 21–23, 2026
Grand Rapids, your weekend plans are here! Summer isn't slowing down yet, and August 21–23 brings another packed weekend of concerts, outdoor movies, nightlife, unique experiences, races, comedy, and more throughout Grand Rapids and West Michigan.
Friday starts strong with Lindsey Stirling taking over Acrisure Amphitheater, Helmet at Elevation, Bronco at DeVos Performance Hall, and an adults-only adventure at John Ball Zoo. Saturday somehow gets even busier with Thomas Rhett, Theory of a Deadman and Sevendust, Bingo Loco, Sunset Cinema, and more. Then Brandi Carlile closes out the weekend Sunday night.
Here's your guide to some of the biggest things happening around Grand Rapids this weekend.

Bronco: El Gran Baile Tour
DeVos Performance Hall
Legendary Mexican group Bronco brings the El Gran Baile Tour to DeVos Performance Hall at 8 p.m. Friday. The tour celebrates the group's massive dance-hall era of the 1990s with a full-scale production and plenty of nostalgia.

The Pyramid Scheme

GLC Live at 20 Monroe
Rock fans have a major alternative Saturday night when Theory of a Deadman and Sevendust bring their Dead / Seven Tour to GLC Live at 20 Monroe.

Studio Park Piazza
Team Edward? Team Jacob? Team "I haven't watched this since 2008?"
Whatever camp you're in, Twilight takes over Studio Park Piazza for the final Sunset Cinema screening of the summer.
The outdoor movie is free and open to the public, with the movie beginning at 8 p.m. Seating is first come, first served, so bring a low-profile chair and claim your patch of grass early.
Gettin' Salty 5K Margarita Run
Riverside Park
Running becomes significantly more persuasive when a margarita is waiting at the finish line.
The Gettin' Salty 5K Margarita Run takes place Saturday at Riverside Park and includes a 5K run/walk along with a decidedly less athletic 0.0K option. The event also features music, food trucks, drinks, race swag, and a post-run party.
Vacation Manor + Nolen Durham
The Pyramid Scheme
Vacation Manor takes the stage at The Pyramid Scheme Saturday with Nolen Durham, adding another live-music option to an already crowded night.

Sunday Bloody Funday
Tip Top Deluxe Bar & Grill

Make the Most of the Weekend
This is one of those Grand Rapids weekends where choosing what not to do might be the hardest part.
Friday offers everything from Lindsey Stirling and Bronco to Helmet, late-night dancing, comedy, and an adults-only puzzle adventure at John Ball Zoo.
Saturday turns the dial even higher with Thomas Rhett, Theory of a Deadman and Sevendust, Bingo Loco, the Gettin' Salty 5K, Vacation Manor, and a free outdoor showing of Twilight at Studio Park.
Then Sunday gives everyone a chance to recover before Brandi Carlile closes out the weekend at Acrisure Amphitheater.
