Twisted Tap Distillery has opened its doors in downtown Grand Rapids, following the rebranding of Wise Men Distillery by the team behind Twisted Tap Sugar Shack. With deep roots in Michigan maple syrup production, the Hunderman family is introducing a unique concept that blends time-honored syrup traditions with small-batch spirit making.

The original head distiller from Wise Men Distillery has returned to continue producing its signature spirits while developing a new lineup of drinks that incorporate Twisted Tap’s house-made maple syrup. The sugars in maple syrup lend themselves naturally to the distillation process, allowing for innovative flavor profiles and handcrafted cocktails.

The family-run syrup operation, which started as a passion project and has since scaled to producing over 4,500 gallons annually, continues to expand. Twisted Tap Distillery builds on this momentum, offering something distinct in West Michigan’s beverage scene.

The downtown Grand Rapids tasting room is open now, with a Kentwood location following in May. Visitors can expect a fresh take on craft spirits and cocktails made with Michigan ingredients and years of family tradition.
