Grand Rapids will host ArtPrize from September 18 to October 4, 2025, drawing thousands of visitors to the city for the world’s most attended art event. With more than 1,600 artists from 42 states and 53 countries showcasing their work, downtown will transform into an open-air gallery where visitors play a direct role in deciding who wins the top prize.
A Look Back and Ahead
Since its debut in 2009, ArtPrize has grown into a cultural phenomenon, blending public voting with juried awards and offering some of the largest prize pools in the art world. The event has continually evolved, adding new partnerships and expanding grant opportunities. In 2022, a public-private partnership between the City of Grand Rapids, Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. (DGRI), and Kendall College of Art and Design (KCAD) reshaped the way ArtPrize operates. Today, the event continues to celebrate both innovation and accessibility while supporting artists from around the globe.

Five finalists from selected U.S. cities present their ideas live to a panel of art experts, with winners receiving a $10,000 grant and a guaranteed ArtPrize venue. For 2025, Pitch Night events are taking place in Indianapolis, Louisville, New York City, Phoenix, and Norman.
