Christkindl Markt 2025 – Starts This Weekend

November 19–December 23
Grand Rapids Downtown Market
The Christkindl Markt returns for its third year, transforming the Downtown Market into a European-style outdoor Christmas village. More than 60 artisan vendors fill the space with holiday gifts, décor, and seasonal food. Visitors will find raclette, bratwurst, churros, crepes, pretzels, soups, pastries, and dozens of handcrafted goods. The market operates Wednesday through Sunday and features live entertainment, festive lighting, and family activities throughout the season.

Grand Rapids Griffins vs. Charlotte Checkers

November 21 at 7 PM & November 22 at 7 PM – Van Andel Arena
The Griffins host Charlotte for a two-game weekend series. Friday features two-dollar beers and hot dogs from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday brings Super Squad Night with a Dominik Shine bobblehead giveaway and character appearances. It marks another home weekend in their milestone 25th year in the AHL.

Grand Rapids International Wine, Beer, and Food Festival

November 21–22 – DeVos Place Convention Center
This annual event returns with more than 1,200 wines, beers, ciders, and spirits from around the world. Restaurants and chefs from across West Michigan present tasting menus, pairings, and demonstrations. Whether guests are seasoned tasters or newcomers, the festival offers a wide range of options and culinary experiences.

The Polar Express in Concert – Grand Rapids Symphony

November 21–22 – DeVos Performance Hall
The Grand Rapids Symphony presents The Polar Express in Concert, performing the full score live while the film plays on the big screen. The family-friendly event showcases the classic holiday movie starring Tom Hanks and directed by Robert Zemeckis.

Free Holiday Trolley

Starts November 22 – Saturdays, 10 AM–7 PM
The annual Downtown Holiday Trolley returns, offering free rides between downtown shops and attractions. Visitors can explore local retailers, find holiday gifts, and enjoy seasonal treats. Opening day coincides with the Santa Parade and Christmas Tree Lighting for an added festive atmosphere.

Tats for Cats: Flash Tattoo Fundraiser

November 22 – Meeting House Tattoo
Meeting House Tattoo and Happy Cat Cafe are hosting a cat-themed flash tattoo fundraiser. All designs are one hundred dollars, cash only, and first come, first served. Proceeds support Fig and Friends Pet Rescue, helping cats throughout West Michigan.

Grand Rapids Santa Parade & Tree Lighting

November 22 – 5 PM at Rosa Parks Circle
Santa arrives downtown for the annual Gentex Santa Parade, followed by the official tree lighting ceremony at Rosa Parks Circle. The parade begins at 5 p.m., and Santa exits his sleigh around 6:30 p.m. before joining the city for the lighting at 6:45 p.m.
