Here’s what’s happening in and around Grand Rapids this weekend:
Friday, August 1
Start your weekend at Meijer Gardens, where The War and Treaty take the stage with the Grand Rapids Symphony at 7:30 PM. Known for their powerful vocals and soulful energy, this husband-and-wife duo has earned national praise for their debut album Healing Tide. Bring your own food and sealed nonalcoholic drinks, or grab something from the concessions. Parking is free and on-site.
Later that night, it’s Adults Only Night at Craig’s Cruisers from 10 PM to 1 AM. This 21+ event includes unlimited attractions, trampoline access, the buffet, two drink tickets, and more. Tickets are $40 per person and sell fast.
Sunday, August 3
If you’re a cat lover, Cat Video Fest 2025 is showing at Wealthy Theatre from 2 to 4 PM. It’s a compilation of the internet’s best cat videos—and part of the proceeds benefit Second Chance Cats of West Michigan, a local nonprofit rescue. It’s fun, it’s for a good cause, and it’s guaranteed to make you laugh.
Happening All Weekend
Grand Rapids FitFest is back after a three-year break. One ticket gets you access to classes at 37 local studios. Try cycling, CrossFit, yoga, boxing, and more all weekend long. And don’t miss Recovery Day on Saturday at The Harris Building with sauna, cold plunges, massage, and wellness vendors.
The Grand Rapids Hispanic Festival returns to Calder Plaza Friday through Sunday, celebrating Latin American cultures with food, art, live music, and dance. Now in its 47th year, this festival is one of downtown’s biggest cultural events of the season.
Over at Ed Dunneback & Girl’s Farm Market, it’s all about pickles. The Pickle Festival runs all weekend with live music, food and drinks, farm animals, and kid-friendly activities.
And finally, the Power of Pollinators exhibit continues at John Ball Zoo. Explore over 20 animatronic pollinators and learn how bees, butterflies, and other tiny creatures play a big role in sustaining our ecosystems.
