Comedy fans in Grand Rapids will have a rare chance to spend an evening with one of television’s most beloved faces when Jim O’Heir takes the stage at Wealthy Theatre on Friday, February 27.
Best known for his role as Jerry (or Larry… or Terry) Gergich on Parks and Recreation, O’Heir brings his humor, warmth, and behind-the-scenes stories to Grand Rapids for a live conversation with comedian and Local Grins author Virginia Anzengruber.
A Conversation, Not Just a Show
The evening centers around an on-stage conversation between O’Heir and Anzengruber, revisiting and expanding on their long-running creative friendship. The discussion will touch on O’Heir’s early days in Chicago theater, his path to Hollywood, and stories from his time on Parks and Recreation, including insights from his memoir Welcome to Pawnee: Stories of Friendship, Waffles, and Parks and Recreation.
The format is intentionally personal, giving the audience an inside look at O’Heir’s career, creative process, and life after Pawnee. An audience Q&A follows, offering attendees the chance to ask their own questions directly.
A Special Improv Finale
After the conversation, the night shifts gears with a live improv performance featuring a supergroup of Grand Rapids improvisers, including members of Rapid Fire Improv. Jim O’Heir will join as a guest monologist, making this portion of the night a one-of-a-kind collaboration that blends national comedy talent with local performers.
The evening also includes an opening set by stand-up comedian Brittany Devon, rounding out a full night of live comedy.
Presented By Local Grins
An Evening With Jim O’Heir is presented by Local Grins on LocalSpins.com and sponsored by Sidecar Studios, continuing their mission of bringing nationally recognized comedy voices to Grand Rapids while highlighting local talent.
