A new Raising Cane’s restaurant is set to open November 18, 2025, at 3650 28th Street SE in Kentwood, near Lake Eastbrook Boulevard. The site, formerly home to Outback Steakhouse, sits next to Trader Joe’s and across from Dave & Buster’s, marking the chain’s first location in the Grand Rapids area.

The Kentwood restaurant will feature dual drive-thru lanes, indoor seating for 45 guests, and a patio with 16 additional seats. The layout also includes on-site parking for easy access during busy meal hours.

The grand opening will include free meal giveaways, community givebacks, and the restaurant’s signature Cane’s Box Combos, according to a company statement. Construction began earlier this year after Raising Cane’s announced plans to expand into West Michigan, with a second location already underway in Portage.

Founded on a simple menu centered around chicken fingers, Texas toast, crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw, and Cane’s Sauce, the fast-growing chain operates locations across Michigan, including in Canton and East Lansing. Over the next decade, Raising Cane’s plans to open more than 20 additional restaurants across the state.

@smallegan Raising Cane’s is one step closer to opening here in Grand Rapids. There will be a double drive thru, and they will be open late. Yes, this is technically Kentwood, but just a quick drive from everything Grand Rapids. #RaisingCanes #GrandRapids ♬ original sound - Mike Smallegan
