If you're looking for things to do in Grand Rapids this weekend, there are plenty of events happening across West Michigan. From comedy festivals and Broadway shows to live music and St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, there’s something for everyone happening around the city.
One of the biggest events of the weekend is LaughFest, the community-wide comedy festival hosted by Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids. The festival runs from March 11–15 and features dozens of stand-up, improv, and comedy shows at venues across the city. LaughFest brings comedians and audiences together for a weekend full of laughter while also supporting cancer and grief programs offered through Gilda’s Club.
Broadway fans can also catch the hit musical & Juliet at DeVos Performance Hall. This pop-powered Broadway show flips the script on Shakespeare’s classic story and imagines what would happen if Juliet chose her own ending. The musical features a soundtrack filled with chart-topping pop hits and is running in Grand Rapids for a limited time.
If you’re looking for a lively celebration downtown, Irish Off Ionia returns to Calder Plaza on Saturday. This annual St. Patrick’s Day street festival is one of the biggest parties in downtown Grand Rapids, featuring live music, food trucks, drinks, and thousands of people celebrating together.
You’ll also find live music competitions, comedy showcases, and extended museum hours happening throughout the weekend.
Whether you're visiting downtown or exploring neighborhoods across Grand Rapids and West Michigan, this weekend is packed with entertainment. Grab some friends, plan a night out, and take advantage of everything happening around the city.
