Friday, June 27

The Fray at GLC Live at 20 Monroe If you were a fan of early 2000s alt-pop, don’t miss this one. The Fray, known for hits like "How to Save a Life" and "Over My Head (Cable Car)," is back in Grand Rapids. Doors open at 7 PM and the show begins at 8 PM. The support act: verygently opens the night

Kody Bryant at Rapid River Stillhouse will be there  from 8 to 11 PM for live country rock on one of the best rooftops in the city. Known for his powerhouse vocals and high-energy setlist, Kody Bryant brings both originals and fan favorites to life. No cover charge, and you can come early for dinner or handcrafted cocktails. The Stillhouse sits above downtown with great city views and a casual, comfortable vibe.

Shrek the Musical at The Matthews Auditorium will host three performances on Friday at 11 AM, 3 PM, and 7 PM. This stage adaptation brings all your favorite characters to life, including Donkey, Fiona, and a cookie with attitude. It’s a full production with colorful costumes and big musical numbers, great for families or anyone who loved the original DreamWorks film.

Saturday, June 28

Yoga by the Dam in Rockford Start your day outdoors with Yoga by the Dam from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at Garden Club Park in downtown Rockford. This free class is hosted by Aptitude Fitness + Yoga and welcomes all skill levels. Just bring your own mat, water, and a good attitude. The setting by the river adds a peaceful backdrop to an energizing weekend practice.

Humane Society of West Michigan Birthday Celebration From noon to 3 PM, the Humane Society of West Michigan will host a birthday party marking 142 years. The event includes free adoptions for animals over six months old, along with food trucks, carnival-style games, a beer tent, and even puppy yoga. There will be activities for kids, a bounce house, photo booths, and a raffle. The shelter is located at 3077 Wilson Dr NW, Grand Rapids. It’s a great chance to support a local organization and maybe even meet your next pet. See more here!

Grand Rapids Taco, Tequila & Margarita Fest Running from 4 to 8 PM at Riverside Park, this annual festival brings together over 165 types of tequila, a wide range of margaritas, and more than 10 taco vendors. There’s also live music, food trucks, and local vendor booths. VIP ticket holders can get in an hour early at 3 PM. The location by the river and baseball diamonds offers picnic table seating and shaded areas. This is a 21+ event and tickets must be purchased in advance online, HERE

Sunday, June 29

Sunday Night Funnies: Kingpin of Comedy Competition Woody’s Press Box will host another round of the Kingpin of Comedy competition on Sunday night. Doors open at 7:30 PM, and the show starts at 8:30 PM. Local comedians will face off for crowd votes, and one finalist will win a chance to perform in a larger showcase. Headliner Justin Seymour will close the night, and audience members can enter to win tickets for upcoming shows at Van Andel Arena and GLC Live. Food and drink will be available throughout the evening. Admission is free.

Sharks Exhibit at the Grand Rapids Public Museum The new Sharks exhibit at the Grand Rapids Public Museum is open daily until 5 PM and offers something for all ages. You’ll find life-sized shark models, an immersive surround theater, and interactive displays including touchtable models and cultural stories from around the world. The exhibit covers both science and folklore, offering insights into how sharks are viewed in different cultures and how environmental changes affect their ecosystems.
